Kdo to jsou mažoretky??
Mažoretky jsou dnes zcela plnohodnotným odvětvím sportu. Základní definice by mohla znít: Tanečnice, jejichž choreografie je založená především na barvité práci s náčiním baton (hůlkou). Lidé si je však stále spojují pouze s dechovou hudbou, barevnými uniformami a strohým pochodováním. Mažoretkový sport však prošel velkou změnou. Kostýmy jsou čím dál spořejší a efektnější, dechovou hudbu nahradila hudba moderní a s hůlkou jdou udělat neuvěřitelné věci.
Mažoretky se dělí na dvě hlavní kategorie.
- Klasická mažoretka - snaží se udržet charakteristické rysy vystoupení mažoretek. Klade důraz na techniku pochodu a držení těla. Pronikají sem však taneční prvky, kostýmy by měly vycházet z tradiční uniformy s vysokými botami a lodičkou na hlavě.
- Twirling- Baton (hůlka) twirling (točení) je sport založený na pohybu a koordinaci spojenou s půvabem a flexibilitou. Baton twirling má nejasnou historii, ale profesionální organizace podporující twirling jako sport existuje už od ranných 50.let. Asociace The United States Twirling je největší profesionálníorganizace pro tento sport. Baton twirling samozřejmě zahrnuje twirling a hůlku, což je vyvážená tyč obvykle vyrobená z kovu, ale na soutěžní úrovních je mnohem více druhů twirlingových hůlek. Jako gymnastika, krasobruslení, a další sporty kombinující pohyb s půvabem, tak i soutěžní twirling vyžaduje pro získání bodů sestavy, obsahující povinné prvky. Na soutěži se vyžaduje aby twirler točil svisle nebo kolmo k zemi a vodorovně. Stejně tak se vyžaduje určitý počet chytnutí, puštění a prohození hůlky během sestavy. Baton tiwrling na určitých soutěžních úrovních vyžaduje používání více než jedné hůlky. Twirling je nezbytným prvkem mnoha pochodových defilé kde je možné vidět twirlery nejen jako mažoretky ale také jako „točící“ s předměty jako například pušky, vlajky a dokonce plameny. Choreografie je sice součástí baton twirlingu, ale obecně vzato je souhra nejdůležitější dovedností. Baton twirleni mívají podobné dovednosti jako gymnastky nebo roztleskávačky, ale nemohou se spolehnout jen na dělání kotrmelců a tančení. Často pracují s trenéry, kteří jim pomáhají se naučit a vypilovat chytání a také plynulost pohybu. Baton twirling je výborným sportem pro mladé lidi. Baton twirling byla populární aktivita a sport po mnoho let. Byl považován jako zcela zvláštní aktivitu, který z mažoretkování vytvořil zcela nový sport - baton twirling. Twirling je populární v mnoho zemích, např. Japonsko, Austrálie, USA, Brazílie, Severní Afrika, Irsko, Skotsko, Anglie, Francie, Španělsko, Holandsko, Itálie, Německo, Slovinsko, Chorvatsko, a další. Většina z těchto zení soutěží v WSTF Světovém mistrovství, konající se v srpnu každého roku. Mnoho jich také soutěží v NBTA Světovém mistrovství, konající se v dubnu každé 3 roky.
- Asociace mažoretek:
5. V ČR existují dvě asociace pořádající soutěže :
- IMA- International majorette Asociation pořádá Mistrovství České republiky v mažoretkovém sportu. Účastní se jí převážně příznivci odvětví klasická mažoretka.
- NBTA - National Baton and Twirling asociation pořádá národní šampionát České republiky. Sdružuje především příznivce odvětví twirling. Od roku 2007 rozdělila soutěž na kategorie klasická mažoretka a twirling.
Některé instituce pořádají jednokolové nepostupové soutěže. Mezi nejznámější patří např. O Cenu TK Andria v Havířově, O Pohár ze zámku v Kolíně nebo Majorettes Show v Hulíně.
Mažoretky soutěží zpravidla ve třech věkových kategoriích:
- Děti (resp. Kadetky) (8-11 resp. 12 let)
- Juniorky (12-14, resp. 15let)
- Seniorky (15 let a více)
Mažoretky mohou soutěžit v disciplínách sólo, duo, trio, miniformace a formace. Základním náčiním je hůlka (baton), výjimkou však nejsou ani třásně (pom-pom) nebo další rekvizity (šátky, stuhy, prapory, fantazii se meze nekladou).
